Abstract
The current study indicated diverse perspectives to search for methods to adjust in lives and society for patients with lymphedema, identified social issues breast cancer survivors with lymphedema experience, and suggested social welfare approaches for social adjustment and return to work for cancer patients with lymphedema. With changes in medical environments, major perspectives including chronic care model, cancer care continuum, patient-centered care, and social determinants of health have been introduced. Social issues for patients with lymphedema have been addressed with several theoretical and political approaches including contextual model of health-related quality of life and cancer survivorship care plans. The current study discussed the importance of social support and active communication for enhancing social adjustment for people with lymphedema.
